DEBORAH POOLE-WILLIAMS
Debbie Poole was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland where grew up singing in both the school and church choirs. With a background in music and comedy, she uses those talents skillfully when she is on stage. Audiences often compare her to one of her musical idols, Phyllis Hyman, as well as Anita Baker. Her sound is not in any way an imitation but just a vocal gift that is seasoned and reminiscent of those great artists. Her voice, and her style, are her own.
Because of her distinct sound, Debbie has worked with many great artists including Roy Ayers, Michael Henderson, Kim Waters and Vaughan Mason, to name a few. Of her numerous awards, she is most proud of winning the Billie Holiday Vocal Competition. Debbie was the featured vocalist on Kim Waters’ “Sax Appeal” CD. She has her own CD, “In the Midst of Love” of which she wrote 8 songs. She has two music videos, the most recent being “Cried My Last Tear” and the previous “Was it Something I Said?” She is currently in the studio working on her next CD with a Grammy-nominated producer. |
