VIC FRIERSON
Vocalist and composer, Vic Frierson is 6’, 8”, 280 pounds of smoo-o- o-th! His musical career has spanned more than four decades and been highlighted by regularly appearing at fine hotels, supper clubs and entertainment centers throughout the East Coast and southern United States. From 1989 -’93, Vic performed as the featured gospel artist aboard the Norwegian Line’s Jazz and Blues theme cruises. On those excursions, he was honored to perform as guest vocalist for jazz greats Dizzy Gillespie and Dorothy Donegan, among others. In recent years, Vic tapped into musical theatre talents and wrote, developed and starred in the stage production, “A Song for You” – a stirring musical and theatrical tribute to the lives and careers of R&B legends Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass and Donny Hathaway. Vic’s stage credits also include performances in productions of “The Gospel at Collonus” and “Marvin, O, Marvin” – a musical salute to Marvin Gaye. Vic’s debut CD is appropriately entitled, Th'owback featuring songs written and composed by Vic, as well as, original renditions of Brenda Russell's classic, Get Here and the gospel standard, His Eye Is on the Sparrow. |
